Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on Que Golazo about the relationship between Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and Daniel Levy.

Tottenham were in some very ropey form heading into last weekend’s match against the champions, however, when their backs appeared to be against the wall, Conte pulled a rabbit out of the hat and masterminded a superb 3-2 victory.

Will Spurs back Conte in the summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Before Spurs’ victory against Manchester City, Conte rubbished any talk of a potential rift with Levy following a transfer window that saw four ‘important players‘ leave the club as only two arrived, leaving Spurs short on numbers.

However, Romano has dropped a positive claim on the relationship between Conte and Levy.

He said: “From what I am told, Antonio was expecting the January window not to be so easy, so when he signed his contract with Tottenham in November, the message was clear – the real rebuilding for Tottenham will be in the summer and not in January, also because the January window is complicated, as you know so well, for all top clubs, not just for Tottenham.

“It’s always like this in January, it’s never so easy to find the right way in that kind of short market. So his relationship with Daniel Levy at the moment is so normal, I would say. He has no problem also because the sporting director, Fabio Paratici, is Italian and this is helping in the communication with Daniel Levy.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte at Spurs…

Conte appeared to be getting a fine tune out of the crop of his Tottenham players, having only tasted defeat in cup competitions before their recent run of form saw them fall to three defeats in consecutive league matches.

It then appeared to get worse when the manager conducted an interview with Sky Sports Italy claiming that it was a ‘difficult’ transfer window for Spurs and insisted that the club had ‘weakened’ during the winter window, but Conte has since apologised for causing a disturbance and if he can get his players to perform how they did against Man City, that interview will be forgotten very quickly by both fans and Levy.
