Fabrizio Romano has revealed on the FIVE YouTube channel which striker Antonio Conte is in love with and would want at Tottenham Hotspur.

It appears that Conte is starting to get Harry Kane back to his form of previous seasons – if his performance against Manchester City is anything to go by, where he netted twice and played a pivotal role in their first goal.

Will Spurs back Conte in the summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

It’s been a tough campaign overall for Kane, who’s only scored seven times in the Premier League, and although the majority of them have come under Conte, it’s still a far cry from where he’s been in the past few seasons.

Another striker that’s struggled this season is Romelu Lukaku, who has scored just five times in the league since his £97.5 million move to Chelsea, but he is someone that Conte is in love with from their time together at Inter, as Romano explained.

He said: “I can tell you, talking about Lukaku that, of course, Antonio is in love with Lukaku. He thinks Lukaku is the best number nine in the world, maybe together with Harry Kane because he’s really loving the impact of Harry Kane now working with him also in training every single day.

“But Antonio is in love with Lukaku, so he would love to work one day again with Romelu, but I think it’s not going to be easy for Tottenham to pay what Chelsea would ask for Lukaku, so that’s why it’s not an easy scenario.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte wanting Romelu Lukaku…

As Romano said, it would not be easy for Spurs to sign Lukaku and that would be for a few reasons, as very few top players have played for both Chelsea and Tottenham, while the Blues are likely going to want to recoup close to the fee they shelled out less than 12 months ago and that would smash Spurs’ current transfer record, which stands at £54 million.

Also, it would be interesting to see how Conte would get Lukaku and Kane playing in the same starting lineup given that the Italian also has a consistent goalscorer in Heung-min Son in his squad, so this certainly feels like a dream signing for Conte rather than a realistic one.
