A Newcastle United post on Instagram has potentially dropped a hint at Bruno Guimaraes starting at the weekend.

Three big points are on the line for Eddie Howe’s side on Saturday as they face a trip to their fellow relegation battlers Brentford.

The game at the weekend could see their £37.89m January signing make his first start in the Premier League, having only featured off the bench since joining last month.

Guimaraes has featured in all three of Newcastle’s Premier League games since arriving on Tyneside but has racked up just a handful of minutes across those appearances (via Transfermarkt).

And ahead of the game on Saturday, the Toon’s Instagram account shared a number of photos from their training session on Wednesday.

Captioned by the ‘soon’ emoji, it was a photo of the Brazilian which was the first of a number of images posted, which some may interpret as a possible hint that the 24-year-old will be in Howe’s starting XI at the weekend.

A number of fans also commented on the post from the Magpies suggesting they would like to see their manager grant the Brazilian midfielder his first start for his new club.

The post comes after midfielder Joe Willock got his name back on the scoresheet over the weekend against West Ham United after a difficult start to his permanent career on Tyneside.

With Joelinton showing better form under Howe playing in the midfield and Jonjo Shelvey recently scoring against Leeds United, would Howe look to disrupt his midfield in their next game?

The Toon are in fine form at the moment and a huge game this weekend awaits them, so it could be viewed as an unnecessary risk for Howe to take against Brentford given the form shown by his side in recent weeks.
