Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has provided fans with a four-word message on Instagram amid his current injury issue.

The 29-year-old has been out of action since the end of 2021 having sustained a calf injury during the Toon’s impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

And on Thursday, the talisman took to his Instagram account to share an update for the fans as he battles to make a return to the St. James’ Park pitch.

Wilson posted a photo of himself playing for the Magpies and captioned the post with an encouraging four-word message to the Toon Army: “Miss being out there!”

Reports have emerged suggesting Wilson could return from his calf issue as early as next month, having been given an eight-week timescale for his possible return.

Despite having missed another five Premier League games as a result of this latest injury, the striker remains Eddie Howe’s top scorer with six goals in the English top flight.

And we say ‘latest injury’ as Wilson had already missed four games earlier in the season as a result of a hamstring issue he picked up during the game against Southampton in September.

Wilson arrived on Tyneside from Bournemouth with a long list of injury issues and the striker has certainly brought his bad luck to St. James’ Park, having missed a total of 24 games for the Magpies through injuries (via Transfermarkt).

With their hopes of survival still in the balance, Newcastle fans will hope Wilson can hit the ground running when he does eventually return, with January signing Chris Wood failing to do so since arriving.
