Mehrdad Ghodoussi has flocked to Instagram to send a positive message to new Newcastle United signing Bruno Guimaraes.
Newcastle’s second-most expensive signing in their history spoke to the media yesterday about his transfer to the club and was finally unveiled to the local and national press when holding a black and white shirt.
The Brazilian midfielder arrived as PIF’s biggest signing of the January transfer window and they could get to see their marquee signing tonight against Everton, where he will likely be warmly welcomed by the Geordie faithful.

One part of the club’s new ownership, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, has commented on Guimaraes’ Instagram post of him holding up the famous Newcastle shirt with some emojis to express that he’s loving the player already.

Guimaraes has instantly joined a very exclusive and illustrious club, becoming just the sixth Brazilian to have signed for Newcastle United, and given his ability to hold onto the ball and move it forward to hurt the opposition – which he did more than anyone for Lyon this season (as per FBRef), Newcastle will be hoping he can be the catalyst for their fight against the drop.
The Athletic has revealed which areas of the pitch each Premier League side dominate against their opponents and which ones they surrender possession, and the Magpies have allowed the opponents to dominate the middle of the field this season – but with Guimaraes now at the club, it could shift massively in their favour if he’s able to get on the ball often enough.
