Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Paul Pogba’s contract situation while speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel.

One of Manchester United’s star assets, Pogba has not really been able to prove he’s deserving of a new contract or worth sticking around given he’s missed 27 games through injury since the start of last season. However, there is indeed a contract on the table for the Frenchman, although he’s still yet to sign or reject it.

Will Pogba stay at Man United?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Pogba attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain last summer although nothing ever materialised, and with just a few months left on his current deal, the Man United board may begin sweating over the fact they could lose him as a free agent for the second time in 10 years.

Romano claims that Pogba will continue to play the waiting game with Man United over a new contract.

He said: “At the moment, I’m told that there is nothing advanced with any club. Of course, we’re talking about a top player and so it’s normal to have conversations with clubs.

“We know that last summer, Paris Saint-Germain had an interest in Pogba, they discussed with [agent Mino] Raiola, their relationship is so good – but then they never made an official bid for Paul Pogba. Let’s see if they want to do it for this summer as a free agent.”

TIF Thoughts on Pogba…

It looked set to be a stunning season for Pogba when he registered seven assists in his first four league matches, which would easily have put him in the driver’s seat when it came to negotiating a new contract with Man United or even as a free agent with another club, however, just two goal involvements since then has seen his form fall off a cliff.

An injury picked up while on international duty last year has undoubtedly hampered him, but according to The Sun, that hasn’t stopped the Red Devils from keeping a lucrative offer on the table for their French midfielder in the hope that he commits his long-term future to Old Trafford, but he may well wait until a new manager is appointed to see which direction the club will be heading in.
