Sam Greenwood has taken to Instagram to let fans know he can’t wait to get back playing for Leeds United.
Greenwood was one of numerous young Leeds stars to start their FA Cup defeat at the hands of West Ham United, however, he was forced off at half time with what turned out to be a hip injury which unfortunately required surgery.
Can Leeds avoid relegation?
Yes!
No!
The 20-year old could well have featured a lot more in the second half of this season under Marcelo Bielsa as Leeds continue to find themselves in an awful run of form and with just one fit and recognised striker in the form of 19-year old Joe Gelhardt.
Greenwood has let Leeds fans know on Instagram that he ‘can’t wait to get back playing’, although it’s unclear how long he will be out for.

The injury that Greenwood sustained could not have come at a worse time, as the likes of Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford, Tyler Roberts and even Gelhardt were all unavailable through injury themselves at various points, so he could have potentially proved to Bielsa he was up to the required standard for the Premier League.
Greenwood’s injury was also during his first professional start, which will have made it even more devastating knowing he was just starting to get closer to the first team, however, this surgery may well have been a good thing for him if the hip issue had been causing him continuous problems.
