Leeds United suffered another Premier League defeat, this time at the hands of Manchester United who left the awful conditions at Elland Road with all three points to compound the misery on Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentine in charge of the Whites left many scratching their head before the game had even kicked off after dropping star man Raphinha to the bench.

Should Leeds replace Bielsa?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

He did bring him on at the break, but the damage was done in the opening 45.

Talking to the BBC before the game, Mark Bosnich in the live text had the following to say on the decision: “I’m astounded Raphinha hasn’t started in such a big game. In the opposition dressing room, when you see a team has left out their best player, the mood rises.

“That puts into perspective where Marcelo Bielsa’s mind is at. Looking at the way the team is set up and the fact there’s no Raphinha, it shows their mindset is more on the negative side.”

Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes gave Man United a 2-0 lead at the interval. Then a crazy 24 seconds in the second half – yes, 24 seconds – saw the hosts back level thanks to Rodrigo and Raphinha.

Who was sent off in his first game as captain?

Manchester United showed why there’s such a large gap between the sides in the table, with second half substitutes Fred and Anthony Elanga then settling the game 4-2.

The result sees Leeds move even closer to the bottom three after results over the weekend didn’t help them. They are now just five points clear of the drop, with some of those below them having games in hand.
