Presenter Joe Wainman has stated that the return from injury for Adam Forshaw is ‘huge’ for Leeds United ahead of their next game.

The central midfielder picked up an injury a little while ago, but has since confirmed that he will be back for the club’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.

Should Adam Forshaw be a starting player for Leeds?

After coming off early against West Ham United, Forshaw was sorely missed in the following match, which saw Leeds lose 1-0 against Newcastle United at Elland Road. Now, though, while speaking the JustJoe Football Show, Wainman claimed the player’s return should give Leeds a huge boost against the Villans.

He said: “Adam Forshaw, massively missed whenever he’s not in there. He just gives us solidity, you know? He’s so press-resistant, he keeps hold of the ball.

“And I miss him when he’s not there. So Adam Forshaw will be back, which is huge.”

TIF Thoughts on Adam Forshaw and Leeds…

Forshaw’s considerably chequered fitness history – which includes a 560-day spell on the sidelines (via Transfermarkt) – means any new injury troubles will always give Leeds fans cause for concern.

But with the 30-year-old set to return against Villa, a sigh of relief will likely be forthcoming. Since coming back into the team earlier on this season, Forshaw has been a trusted part of the midfield for Marcelo Bielsa, playing in 12 Premier League matches.

In that time, apparently, he has done enough to secure the confidence of Wainman, who seems delighted that the Englishman is available once more.
