Philippe Coutinho has sent a glowing message to Jacob Ramsey on Instagram after the young midfielder’s brace in midweek.
Ramsey and Coutinho were both very influential in Aston Villa racing into a 3-1 lead during the first half against Leeds United, with the former picking up a goal, as well as two assists – of which Ramsey netted both of his strikes from.

The 20-year old posted two pictures, including one with the Brazilian midfielder where they were together celebrating a goal.
Ramsey will surely have been delighted to see an international star and teammate comment, with Coutinho’s fire emoji and clapping hands showing how impressed he was with what he did during the game.

During Villa’s match against Leeds, Ramsey was very influential, racking up the fourth-most touches within the team, he progressed the ball the most and was also third when it came to completed passes, so overall, it was a near-perfect midfield display (as per FBRef).
If Ramsey is getting praised by someone like Coutinho, who is a full international and has played for some of the best clubs across Europe, it perhaps points towards him having a very bright future, not to mention that Steven Gerrard has started him in every single league game since arriving.
