Former West Bromwich Albion man Robert Snodgrass has posted an emotional thank-you to the club after leaving the club on Deadline Day.

So much of the January market is focused on players leaving one club to directly join another, but the 34-year-old somewhat bucked the trend by leaving his club with nowhere seemingly lined up to join.

Indeed, having arrived at The Hawthorns back in January 2021, the Baggies’ official website declared Snodgrass would be leaving the club by mutual agreement.

In the aftermath, the midfielder took to Instagram to share a picture of himself applauding the fans, with a caption that explained that he was ‘gutted to be leaving’ but wanted to thank the club and their supporters nonetheless.

Judging from his message, there’s no doubting just how emotional this whole situation has been for Snodgrass. Sadly, the former West Ham United man has only managed to make six Championship appearances this season – and leaves having last played in early November.
He explains in his post that it has been a ‘very difficult few months’ and it seems likely that he’ll be hoping to find a new club where he can get back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Snodgrass, who is valued at £720k (as per Transfermarkt), leaves having made 15 appearances during his year with West Brom, but never managed to score or claim an assist.
