A large number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to vent their rage at their goalkeeper, Pierluigi Gollini, for his performance in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Spurs were sent crashing out of the League Cup in a 3-0 aggregate defeat to their city rivals having lost 1-0 on the night in their north London home.

Is Gollini the worst GK Spurs have had?

And it was apparent the Lilywhites’ on-loan goalkeeper from Atalanta, Gollini, did not leave many fans impressed after his involvement in Antonio Rudiger’s first-half goal.

The game on Wednesday night made it back-to-back starts for the Italian having played on the weekend in the FA Cup against Morecambe where he was also unable to keep a clean sheet, and these fans voiced their anger during the Chelsea defeat.

What did these fans have to say?

“Gollini is genuinely the worst professional footballer I have ever seen. He is being challenged by Tanganga and Doherty for the top prize.”

“Gollini is the worst keeper we’ve ever had , woeful.”
“Gollini is literally the worst keeper i have ever seen, he must have some serious dirt on Conte to keep being picked, terminate his contract immediately”
“Gollini is horrific”
“Gollini a professional goalkeeper yeah? Absolutely pathetic!”
“half time changes we need send Gollini back to Italy”
“Gollini is utterly useless”

The Italian was given the nod ahead of the club captain, Hugo Lloris, on the night despite the Frenchman playing in the first leg last week at Stamford Bridge.

Gollini has now made 10 appearances for Spurs across a number of competitions but only on two occasions has the 26-year-old been able to keep a clean sheet (via Transfermarkt).

As Lloris continues to show some of his best form this season with eight clean sheets in the Premier League alone, it is no surprise these fans were far from impressed to see Gollini between the sticks.
