A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the performance of Emerson Royal in their Premier League clash on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian right-back started for Antonio Conte at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday with the Lilywhites holding a number of games in hand on their top-four rivals.

Does Emerson need replacing?

Spurs knew a win against Leicester City would have taken them up to fifth in the Premier League table and ahead of Arsenal, however, they found themselves trailing after 24 minutes.

The Brazilian’s night was over at half-time as he did not resurface from the break with Matt Doherty replacing the Spurs summer signing.

And it was apparent the performance of Emerson did not impress these fans who voiced their rage with the Brazilian defender who was making his 15th Premier League appearance.

What did these fans have to say?

“Hurts my soul watching Emerson Royal play football”

“Emerson Royal is getting worse every game”
“Emerson Royal has got to be one of our worst signings ever”
“Emerson Royal is absolute garbage”
“Na man Emerson distaterclass”
“Don’t think Emerson’s going to last under Conte. A bit of a shame as he’s alright but a bad fit”
“Tanganga doesn’t know what he’s doing. Emerson is one of the worst footballers I’ve ever seen.”
“Emerson has got to be one of the pointless signings. He’s absolutely awful”

And it seems these fans are not the only people to be unimpressed by the 23-year-old with Conte, himself, believed to be looking to replace him this month.

Having only provided one assist in his 15 Premier League appearances, it is hardly surprising to see these fans share their frustrations with the Brazilian not living up to the standards of a Conte wing-back.
