A large number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to vent their frustrations with the performance of Liel Abada in their game at Parkhead on Monday night.

The Bhoys returned to action and found themselves almost immediately in the lead with their new signing, Daizen Maeda, providing the opening goal inside the first five minutes.

Is Abada good enough to be starting for Celtic?

No

And despite Josip Juranovic doubling the lead before the half, it seemed not all Celtic fans were impressed with the Israeli winger’s display in what was his 20th appearance of the league campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Having been unable to add to his tally of six league goals this campaign, the winger was withdrawn after 75 minutes and these fans shared their thoughts.

What did these fans have to say?

“Abada is lettin us down man”

“Abada’s shot there channelling his inner Ryan Christie.”
“Abada off and jota on.”
“Get Abada off. Been abysmal all game.”
“Some point Abada has got to sort out his end product. There’s a player in there somewhere”
“Abada really needs to get his act together. Seems a lack of concentration, although decent shot there as I was typing…”

Abada saw 2021 out in style with a brace against St. Johnstone in their 3-1 victory but he was unable to find his shooting boots on Monday night having only managed to get one of his four shots on target (via WhoScored).

The second goal of the night came through Abada winning the penalty, however, it seems his wayward finishing left these fans frustrated with Jota sat watching from the bench.

While some of the above comments are obviously ficticious and the ones which really came from fans, obviously from uneducated fans, Abada is not Celtic class and never will be. He plays in ocassional flashes but invariably disappoints.
No-one had a bad game today, though many were below par which is to be expected when Ange makes so many changes!
Sub-par today, McGregor, Abada, Rogic, and Forrest. Bringing Johnston on can only be looked at as a shop window viewing to remind others he has no place at Celtic.
It’s time to partways with Jamesie too I think.
