A number of Sunderland fans have reacted with much excitement after seeing their club has been linked with a loan move for Jack Clarke.

Indeed, as reported by respected journalist Pete O’Rourke on Twitter, the Tottenham Hotspur winger looks destined for a temporary departure in the January transfer market and the Black Cats are lining up a move.

After the news saw shared online, it quickly saw a whole host of Sunderland supporters flock to the update to offer their opinions on the possible loan deal. It seems most were pretty happy with the idea of it all.

Would you take Jack Clarke at Sunderland?

Here’s what these Sunderland fans had to say…

“Another great signing if we get him.”

“I’ll have some of this.”
“Wow. Showed a lot of promise at Leeds in 18-19 but never lived up to that promise. It would certainly follow our current recruitment model. Though I’m not sure another wide forward is our priority.”
“This would be a fantastic signing for us #SAFC @SunderlandAFC we definitely need to get him.”

At 21 years of age, Clarke has found opportunities in the Spurs first team fairly limited, making just four senior appearances for the club in his career.

This season, he has had to make most of his outings playing for the Tottenham academy in the Premier League 2 division, where he has scored three goals and claimed a further four assists in 13 matches.

If he is to make the move, it will be interesting to see how he handles the adjustment required to play in League One. It’s safe to say, these fans think he will fit right in.
