A number of Celtic fans have reacted with great excitement after seeing footage of new signing Yosuke Ideguchi giving his first interview with the club.
With the January transfer market now open, the Bhoys have wasted no time bolstering their squad as they have already announced deals for three new players.
Indeed, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Ideguchi have all arrived in Scotland from Japan’s J League. Ideguchi signed a four-year contract, and the 25-year-old midfielder has now spoken to his new fans for the first time.
Will Yosuke Ideguchi be a success at Celtic?
In an interview shared by the club’s official Twitter account, he explained how he had been impressed by manager Ange Postecoglou, stating (via a translator) that he was ‘excited to be able to join his team’ having been ‘interested’ in the style of play Celtic have.
Having seen the interview appear online, many of the club’s supporters quickly shared messages of support for the new January signing.
Here’s what these Celtic fans said…
“Can’t wait for the three of them to savour the atmosphere at Paradise.”
Ideguchi, who has declared that his new supporters can refer to him as ‘Guchi’, already seems to be well-liked by the Celtic faithful.
Of course, the level of support will be tested when the midfielder actually makes an appearance for the Bhoys. Having won a number of trophies with former club Gamba Osaka in Japan, ‘Guchi’ will no doubt hope to use that experience to hit the ground running.
