Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by Ange Postecoglou about the injury situation surrounding captain Callum McGregor ahead of their upcoming games.

Celtic are set to enter a rather important phase of the fixture list in the next few days.

They head into their next game four points off top spot in the Scottish Premiership table, knowing that they will need to pull out all three points if they are to keep themselves in a decent position to try and catch their Glasgow rivals ahead of a potentially crucial Old Firm clash next week.

They are getting set to take on Hearts, who themselves are having an impressive year as they find themselves third in the table, so Postecoglou’s men will need to be at their best as they head to Tynecastle on Wednesday.

However, they will have to do it without captain McGregor, who picked up an injury at the weekend in their Scottish Cup tie against Alloa Athletic, with Postecoglou labelling it a ‘significant’ one.

Speaking to Celtic TV about the situation, Postecoglou talked about McGregor’s injury issue and revealed that the midfielder is feeling better since the initial incident and that ‘hopefully his recovery doesn’t take too long’.

His comments were relayed on social media for fans to react to, where it generated some interesting responses, with many supporters feeling slightly upbeat after hearing what he had to say, perhaps given the manager was initially fairly despondent about his chances:

“No real update is good news I’m hoping”

“He’ll be playing very soon, that’s what I’ve taken from this.”
“If there was a break then he’d mention it, especially if mentioning concussion”
“That sounds good news to me. If there was a break they’d know about it by now.”
“He’s keeping his cards close to his chest giving nothing away sounds promising though”
“It’s what he isn’t saying that’s got my hopes up”
“I sort of think that’s good news, surely wouldn’t release it if not”

Let’s hope it isn’t too bad, as Postecoglou hints, because Celtic will need all the help they can get in the coming weeks if they are to mount a serious challenge for the title this season.
