Many Celtic fans online have been left excited after hearing the club could make a move for young defender Jamie Hamilton.
As reported by TEAMtalk, Hamilton Academical are set to lose the talented teenager, with a number of clubs interested in the centre-back and his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Alongside the Bhoys, rival Scottish outfits Hibernian and Aberdeen are also said to be keen on a deal. In England, a host of Premier League clubs are also linked with Hamilton, such as Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, Newcastle United and Burnley – though Liverpool are believed to have the ‘strongest interest’.
Here’s what these Celtic fans said…
“Low-risk high reward why not.”
“He’s 19?? Honestly thought he’d been in their first team for like 5 years.”
Judging from these comments, a lot of Celtic fans would be willing to take a chance on the young defender. With over 60 appearances to his name at club level despite still being a teenager, you can understand the interest.
Should Celtic sign Jamie Hamilton?
However, one potential shortcoming in his game may well be his discipline. After all, he has already picked up five red cards for Hamilton in his short career so far.
Though, perhaps this is something that could be ironed out of his game as he matures.
