Lots of Celtic fans have been drawn to Twitter to share their thoughts on the latest footage to emerge of Ange Postecoglou regarding the January transfer window.

The Australian manager was speaking to the media ahead of Celtic’s return to Premiership action on Monday night against Hibernian, where he revealed there are no plans to make any more signings this month.

Do Celtic need more signings?

No

“As we speak right now, there is no other offers or people I have spoken to, so the 20 names that come out tomorrow are all lies. Fabrications,” said the 56-year-old.

Although Postecoglou claimed there are no immediate plans to add to his options, the Bhoys could be tempted if something ‘extraordinary’ arose.

With the Bhoys returning to action sitting just six points off the top of the Scottish Premiership table, these fans flocked to Twitter in response to Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph’s post to share their thoughts on Postecoglou’s latest comments.

What did these Celtic fans have to say?

“That would be a shame. He needs a few more imo”

“Sky headline on this  Think he said “As it stands no more transfers unless something extraordinary comes up or something happens within the the existing squad”  sky like to mix it”
“He didn’t say that”
“Poor”
“Always clear and to the point. I would be happy if the Benkovic free contract was considered “something extraordinary”. He looked to be top drawer when he was with us.”
“Love the honesty and transparency..”
“He didn’t say he had no plans Anthony.”
“He said as it stands Anthony. Twitsting words there”
“Sorry your Tweet is completely that isn’t what the Manager said, all your doing is putting words into his mouth.”

Celtic acted quickly in the January transfer window, with four new additions already added to Postecoglou’s squad inside the opening 14 days of the window.

Although fans have taken issue with the way Joseph phrased his tweet – suggesting Postecoglou said there were no plans at all to further add to his squad this month – it is clear many supporters are simply hoping that something ‘extraordinary’ will indeed happen before the end of the window.
