A large number of Celtic fans have been sharing their delight at the latest claim to emerge on Kyogo Furuhashi’s potential call up to the Japan squad.

The Samurai Blue have two upcoming World Cup Qualifiers coming up in the next few weeks and Kyogo’s spot in the squad has been under speculation given his injury issue.

And it has been claimed by a Japanese football outlet that the 26-year-old will not meet up with Hajime Moriyasu’s side at the end of the month.

“We have received reports that Maya Yoshida, Kaoru Mitoma, Sei Muroya, and Kyogo Furuhashi are also difficult.

“It is painful for the team that the players who have been convened each time cannot play,” said the Japanese manager.

Celtic return to action on Monday night with a home clash against Hibernian and although Kyogo’s availability is doubtful, these fans were clearly thrilled to hear the latest update from Japan.

What did these Celtic fans have to say?

“Excellent news if true, and it seems to be. Full squad for rest of the season!!”

“Let’s gooo”
“Definitely injury related but you just know he’s gonna return on the 2nd of February and run riot. Written in the stars.”
“Absolutely massive if true, could unleash Maeda/Kyogo/Jota if all fit!”
“Big dub”
“Huge if he’s fit hopefully the rest stay”

The Celtic forward has already suffered from a number of injuries this season which has seen the Japan international miss six Scottish Premiership clashes already this campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Given Kyogo has already provided 21 goal involvements for the Bhoys since he arrived in the summer, it is no surprise these fans are delighted to hear he will not be risked for Japan’s upcoming fixtures.
