Celtic fans were buzzing to reach the fifth round of the Scottish Cup, with Israel international Liel Abada a huge part of their success after he scored what turned out to be the winning goal.

Giorgos Giakoumakis opened the scoring for Celtic, before a stunning strike from Abada doubled the lead just before the half time whistle. He cut in from the right, and after a fortunate rebound saw the ball back at Abada’s feet, he bent one into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Celtic did suffer a late scare however, with Conor Sammon pulling one back for the lower league hosts who didn’t have enough to level the scores before the full time whistle.

The Hoops fans took to Twitter to highlight their appreciation for the display put on by Abada.

What the Celtic fans said

“Unreal from a 20 year old coming over from Israel. Has been unreal for us and will be for years to come.” @SDair3

“He gets credit alright. Abada is a baller. Probably doesn’t get as much credit as earned. Jota is different gravy.” @bhoymikey67

“Criminally underrated.” @amurtaa

“That’s the side of Abada we want to see. Great strike!” @SAJsport

“Superb finish. Abada always has that in his locker.” @CraigCelt

“Stunning by Abada!” @ConMcQ

It’ll be a worrying time for the Celtic fans who are potentially going to have to survive without Abada as the winger was forced off early in the second half.
