A whole host of Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter to Reo Hatate’s latest comments and the way they have been relayed.

Hatate arrived at the beginning of this transfer window alongside fellow former J League players Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda, which should make things a lot easier for him to settle in, as well as with Kyogo Furuhashi having arrived back in the summer.

Will Celtic win the league?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, Hatate has said: ‘Playing abroad is one of my dreams. I think I will have a hard time with football, personal life, language, food and so on’ and that has led the Daily Record to claim he will face a ‘culture shock’ – which has not gone down very well.

A lot of Celtic fans are not happy on Twitter with this Daily Record’s story of Hatate’s comments.

What have these Celtic fans been saying?

“Terrible headline as per from this lot.”

@mcgceltic

“That’s literally not what he said. Stop thinking AI-translations are in any way accurate. Hatate has expressed excitement to join Celtic, and readiness to deal with any difficulties that might come with it”

@esperbymitsume

“Great twisting of his words”

@stephencoakley

“Pathetic headline!”

@lfmunro

“Embarrassing headline. Predictable though.”

@CeltExchange

“Did u honestly expect anythin else?”

@JimMorr69466010

These Celtic fans are clearly very frustrated with the headline and translated comments, which is fair enough given that a Scottish newspaper is creating quite a sensationalist headline about a player who has not even featured once for the Bhoys.
