Celtic fans have been reacting to comments that have emerged from forward Giorgos Giakoumakis on his return from injury.

The signing of the Greek certainly caused something of a stir when he arrived back in the summer, mainly as a result of him being handed the legendary number 7 shirt at the club, and it’s fair to say he hasn’t really been able to live up to it since his arrival.

The 27-year-old has only been able to make 10 appearances, during which time, he’s bagged just two goals – though that is partly down to the fact he has been out for a large part of the season due to a calf injury.

However, he is now on the way back from that injury and was able to play 90 minutes and score a goal in their recent win over Alloa Athletic.

The Greek striker recently spoke to the club’s in-house media team in which he talked about his injury and his ambitions moving forward, saying:

“I’m healthy, I’m fit and I can say that from now on the season starts for me.”

He added: “As I said, the season starts from now on. I give my best in training, I try to improve myself, I try to be fit again because if you stay out for a long time, you lose your confidence and you lose your fitness.”

These comments were relayed to fans on Twitter for them to react to, where it generated some interesting responses:
