Celtic fans have been discussing the future of Mikey Johnston at the club following recent reports regarding a transfer away.

The winger has racked up 77 appearances for Celtic so far, scoring 11 goals and chipping in with 10 assists, but he could soon be on his way out the door at Celtic Park.

A report in The Daily Record has claimed that Aberdeen are showing an interest in bringing him in on loan.

Which season did Roy Keane join the Hoops?

It states that Dons manager Stephen Glass reportedly wants to “expand his attacking options”, noting that “the 22-year-old winger is among a number of options on a January shortlist”.

Johnston also has support from former Bhoys captain Scott Brown, who reportedly “is a huge admirer of the Parkhead academy graduate and has offered up a glowing reference”.

The news of their interest was relayed to fans by Celtic Insider on Facebook for fans to react to, where they seemed to be pretty happy with the idea of him leaving:

With 18 appearances so far this season that have produced just one assist, you can argue that Celtic haven’t exactly needed Johnston this season, so he may as well go out on loan and hopefully come back a better player that can make an impact next year.
