Wolves reporter Liam Keen has been discussing Bruno Jordao and his place at the club following his return from injury.

The midfielder suffered a rather serious injury last season whilst out on loan with Portuguese side FC Famalicão that had prevented him from making any appearances for Wolves this campaign, before eventually coming on for the last few minutes against Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

So he is on the comeback trail to regular football, but the question remains where is he going to be getting it, because he was far from a regular at Molineux before his loan spell in 2020/21.

Speaking on the latest edition of the E&S Wolves podcast, Keen spoke about Jordao’s status now that he has recovered from his injury, claiming that Wolves are trying to work out whether they will send him out on loan to regain his fitness or keep him in-house for the time being.

He said: “I think the player and the club are very open to potentially sending him on loan, because he needs minutes at the age he’s at and having come back from injury, he wants to play games.

Fitness issues plagued Silvio's career, but where did Wolves sign him from?

“But he played for the U23s the other night and scored. As it stands now, I would hasten to say, it’s probably more likely he stays, gets a few minutes with the first team, trains, plays for the U23s when he needs fitness. I think that’s probably the likely situation with him now.

“And Wolves need bodies, of course, and particularly in midfield, so I think that’s probably the situation. But Bruno seems happy with him, he certainly does. Of course, it could change in the next 10 days, 11 days. But as it stands, I think he’s probably going to stick around.”

It is certainly going to be an interesting one for Wolves to try and work out, because this is in a sense like a new signing for them because this is the first time that Lage will be getting a look at him having taken over from Nuno Espirito Santo this past summer.

And it would be harsh of him to be sent away from the club so soon after returning from injury without being given a fair chance to see if he can make something of himself with a Premier League side.

It would be better to keep him at the club so that Lage can get a proper look at him, be it with the first team or with the U23 side, that way he can truly assess whether or not he will be an asset for them as he continues to shape the team in his image.
