West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee believes that manager David Moyes does not rate Alex Kral.

In the summer, the Czech midfielder joined national compatriots and former Slavia Prague teammates Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal in east London.

He arrived on a season-long loan deal, though it was reported that it would be with a view to ultimately turn the move into a permanent one.

However, since then, he has struggled for regular game time, playing just 210 minutes across the Hammers’ 2021/22 campaign so far.

Should West Ham sign Alex Kral on a permanent basis?

When discussing the player on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex said that Kral is clearly someone that Moyes ‘doesn’t particularly rate’.

He also suggested his lack of game time may also be down to a contractual agreement, saying: “People have asked me about Kral. Kral is clearly someone that Moyes doesn’t particularly rate. If he plays a certain amount of games, we have to sign him, I believe.

“So Moyes is obviously taking his time to decide whether he’s good enough. It’s interesting, because Moyes identified him as someone to look out for in the [European Championship]. But since he’s been at the club, obviously, he’s chosen other options over him.”

TIF Thoughts on Alex Kral and West Ham United…

It’s hard to argue with the idea that Moyes does not rate Kral. After all, the Czech has been afforded just a single Premier League appearance during his time on loan – and that was a one-minute cameo against Watford from the bench (via Transfermarkt).

As Ex claims, West Ham may have to sign the midfielder if he plays a certain number of games – though that exact figure has not been officially reported anywhere, and so that could well be playing a role in Moyes’ decision to give him so few opportunities.

Of course, the Hammers boss does get to see all of his players every day in training and so fans will likely just have to trust their manager’s judgment on Kral when it comes to deciding whether or not he has a future at their club.
