Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas has been speaking on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel to discuss the future of Tanguy Ndombele at Tottenham Hotspur.

The French midfielder has had his future speculated on for months now, with major doubts cast over his Spurs career during the summer as the 25-year-old was believed to be hoping for a move.

Do you want Ndombele to leave this month?

And it seems the midfielder may now be edging closer to leaving the club, with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain thought to be edging closer, according to Thomas.

It has been a turbulent spell at Spurs for Ndombele. He joined as the club’s record signing, but has found himself missing from recent matchday squads.

With just a matter of days remaining until the January window shuts, Thomas provided the following update on Ndombele’s situation from what he’d heard from Sky Sports’ sources:

“Well, obviously, there are a lot of reports tonight [Thursday], I’m sure everybody’s reading them, I’m sure everybody can see them – that it’s edging closer for him to join PSG, I think on an initial loan.

“We’ve got some sources that are saying the same things, then we’ve got some other sources that are saying that it’s not quite as far along as that at the moment. So that will need some further verification during the course of the evening or tomorrow [Friday] morning.”

“It looks at the moment that if he does end up at PSG – which all the indications are that he will – it will be just a straight loan probably with an option to buy.”

TIF Thoughts on Tanguy Ndombele’s potential departure…

We do feel the Frenchman needs to leave Spurs in order to find his ways again having struggled to find a real consistent run in the Spurs XI for over a year now.

However, it could be considered a risk for the Lilywhites to trim their squad given the way they have operated the market this month.

Ndombele is said to be one of three midfielders Spurs are looking to offload this month, but the north London club are yet to bring in any new faces and have seen deals collapse for players on their radar.

With games still to catch up on due to postponements and possibly only one midfielder expected to come in this month, could Spurs leave themselves worse off than how they started the month?
