Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been sharing their delight on Twitter following Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on Steven Bergwijn.
According to the football journalist, Spurs have made the decision to try and sell Bergwijn this month, with a number of clubs showing an interest in the 24-year-old.
Should Bergwijn be sold?
Yes
No
It is believed one of the sides which are showing serious interest in the Dutchman is Ajax, with the Eredivisie side offering him a potential return to his motherland.
Having missed the FA Cup clash at the weekend through a calf injury, Spurs fans voiced their thoughts on the Dutchman’s future after Romano provided the update shortly after their victory against Morecambe.
What did these Spurs fans have to say?
“First Ndombele and now this! The good news keeps coming”
Bergwijn is another one of the more recent Spurs signings who have failed to make an impression on the side, with just five goals across all competitions in 64 appearances for the Lilywhites (via Transfermarkt). This comes as club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele came in for fierce criticism from supporters following his performance against Morecambe on Sunday.
Having cost the Lilywhites £27m to sign back in 2020 and only played 310 minutes of Premier League action this season, it seems these fans have seen enough of Bergwijn in a Spurs shirt.
