Alasdair Gold has been speaking about all things Tottenham Hotspur on his latest YouTube video, specifically the latest on Son Heung-min’s injury.

The South Korean ace suffered a muscle strain in last week’s Carabao Cup defeat against Chelsea which is thought to see him out for a number of weeks.

Is Son more important that Harry Kane?

Yes

No

No

Son is expected to be out of action until after the international break, meaning he will miss two key clashes against Chelsea, the north London derby and a trip to Leicester City.

However, Gold believes the 29-year-old’s injury could be even worse than initially feared and could be out of action for well over a month.

Discussing what he has heard from certain people inside the club, Gold had the following to say on the fears surrounding the severity of Son’s injury:

“Conte hopes it’s only two weeks. I think it’s a hamstring problem. There’s some within the club that are a little bit worried it could be more like five weeks or more. You’re gonna have two weeks with the international break anyway. So either way, really, if it’s two weeks or five weeks, Spurs are probably going to see him out for about the same amount of time, if you know what I mean. It just depends on what he can do when the international break is over.”

TIF Thoughts on Son’s absence…

We are really worried for Tottenham with their upcoming run of fixtures with Son expected to miss some potentially season-defining games.

Despite some disappointing performances of late, the South Korean has played a huge part in Tottenham’s recent upturn in form under Antonio Conte.

Even with Son in the squad, the upcoming fixtures against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester would have proven a big test for Conte’s side and we are not convinced players such as Dele Alli and Bryan Gil will step up in his absence.

But what is even more concerning is the fixtures do not ease up going into February with clashes against both Manchester sides and a trip to Leeds, so fans will be hoping he returns on schedule.
