Spurs fans look like they might finally have an incoming to celebrate as we enter the final stages of the January transfer window for another year.
According to reports, Adama Traore finally looks set to be on his way to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The update broke via The Athletic, with Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers claiming a contract extension was unlikely to be agreed upon, so Wolves would look to move the Spanish forward on this window.
Spiers also went on to say that the asking price is £20m. After rejecting £15m from Spurs already, senior figures at Wolves expect an agreement to be reached given how close the opening bid was to their valuation.
Do you want Traore at Spurs?
The Spurs fans took to Twitter to convey their delight at the news when it was relayed online.
What the Spurs fans said…
“FINALLY GOD THANK YOU.”
“Waited 6 months for this, siuu.”
“Things we love to see.”
While his numbers this year are disappointing, that won’t worry Antonio Conte or the Spurs fans.
In his 22 Wolves appearances this season, Traore has only scored the one goal, creating none. That goal came last time out too, so it was a long time coming.
However, it’s reported that Conte wants to convert the forward into a right wing-back, adding to his defensive options, so his pace and strength (which he has in abundance) may be more useful than his creativity.
