Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted with excitement after Alasdair Gold revealed his best and worst-case Spurs transfer scenarios for Deadline Day.
In the post, published on Football.london, Gold explained that in the worst-case scenario, the club would have failed to sign any new players, but with Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur arriving in north London, that seems to have been avoided.
He went on to say that the best-case scenario would include a late swoop for Paulo Dybala, while a right wing-back – in the form of Genoa’s Andrea Cambiaso or Torino’s Stephane Singo – would arrive, while Matt Doherty could then leave.

After he shared his article on Twitter – adding that ‘thankfully the worst no longer could be that bad’ – it seemed to leave a number of Spurs fans in an optimistic mood.

No doubt, these fans are left with high hopes after seeing all this talk of dream transfer situations. Of course, though, this is purely speculation and Gold does not imply that he expects the best-case scenario to play out.
In particular, the touted move for Dybala seems to have these supporters most excited. The good news there is that the Juventus man is out of contract in the summer, and Spanish outlet AS reported that Spurs were among those in the race to sign him earlier this month.
Perhaps that dream will come true one day.
