Tottenham are still yet to broker their first deal of the January transfer window, but they could have made a breakthrough last week had Conte not stepped in and stopped any potential deal for Philippe Coutinho developing, which is what The Daily Mirror (as relayed by The Express) is claiming.

The Brazilian winger is now on his way to Aston Villa and will link up with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard, but this could be a good thing for Spurs, as it shows the board are listening to what Conte wants and doesn’t want this transfer window.
