Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to comments by journalist Gianluca Di Marzio about the club’s plans for upcoming transfer windows.

One of the things that Spurs boss Antonio Conte has made clear during his time at the club is his desire to bring in players that will allow him to compete, recently stating: “After only two weeks, I said we needed to improve the quality of this squad. I was sure after seven to 10 days about this. Then I had to make the evaluation over who I can count on and who I can’t.”

And judging by comments made by journalist Di Marzio, that’s exactly what the club can expect to happen. Speaking to Sky Sports recently, when asked by journalist Hayley McQueen whether or not Tottenham would be busy this window, he replied:

“I think so,” before adding: “In general, I think Tottenham will do something,” whilst listing a number of players the club could target.

How many points did Tottenham gain in the following seasons? First up: 2020/21

However, later on in the segment he also noted: “I think in June, Tottenham will be, I think, a leader of the market.”

So when this was relayed by @TheSpursExpress for fans to react to, they focused on the latter portion of his comments, with many of them interpreting that they expected most of their business to be conducted in the summer – which didn’t leave many of them impressed:

“We don’t care to be honest. We want action this window . Conte has asked now deliver . FYI Lloris & Kane renewals don’t count”

“Lol sweetening us up for no Jan signings”
“I’ve heard this before”
“Conte only on an 18 month contract! At this rate he’ll have one window and season to make his mark. Got levy screwing everyone over written all over it.”
“Nevermind the summer, Spurs better be the market leaders in winter otherwise Conte says ciao.”
“Always the next window, was going to be jan now its summer , just goes on and on”
“Believe it when I see it. Always some excuse with these owners”

Do you expect Levy to back Conte?

Yes

No

We’ll just have to wait and see how the window plays out, but it certainly should be interesting to follow for Tottenham, especially given Conte’s comments about his desire to improve, and whether or not that matches up with Daniel Levy’s notorious reputation when it comes to spending.

The gulf between Spurs and Chelsea tonight has been enormous, the quality in the two sides are fields apart. Levy needs to start buying quality signings or get of our club. NO more messing around, if Levy isn’t prepared to back Conte, what was the point in bringing him in. The fans need to start voting with their feet and not going to games if that’s what it would take, we need to let the board and Levy know that it’s QUALITY or get out.
