Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to claims from journalist Fabrizio Romano regarding a potential move for Sofyan Amrabat.

According to recent reports coming out of Italy, which were later relayed by Romano himself, Spurs have taken a marked interest in the Moroccan international as a player to potentially replace Tanguy Ndombele, with the Frenchman’s future at the club in doubt following reports that Paris Saint-Germain are taking an interest in his services.

Taking to Twitter more recently, Romano claimed that one part of the deal was edging closer to being completed, as he claimed that Amrabat’s move to north London was “advanced but not a done deal yet”.

He also noted that Spurs boss Antonio Conte and director of football Fabio Paratici both seem to be fans of him, which presumably has helped the deal move along.

The news that the deal was getting closer to completion left a lot of Tottenham fans happy when it flashed across their timelines, with some of them seemingly putting a lot of faith in Conte that this was the right move for them to make:

“Conte wants him, enough for me”

“Get it done. @SpursOfficial
“I like the part ‘he only want spurs’ in the football World, attitude makes difference.. Lets see”
“Conte wants him then I want him”
“Spurs pull is different”
“Thank you Fab, been waiting for this news”

So it looks as if they are closer to getting one man in – the only question now is whether they’ll be shipping someone out like Ndombele in order to make room for Amrabat, or if they’ll have to fight it out for a spot in the team.
