Tottenham Hotspur fans are finally enjoying some movement in the January transfer window as Rodrigo Bentancur’s arrival looks imminent.

Fabrizio Romano reported the latest update around Antonio Conte’s squad, with Valencia closing in on a loan deal for Bryan Gil, with some Spurs fans baffled by the decision.

It will see the forward return back to his native country to get minutes under his belt and hopefully take his game to another level, however, the Tottenham faithful are far from convinced.

Has Gil flopped at Spurs?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The reliable transfer insider dropped the news on his Twitter account, with the Spurs fans quick to react and show their frustrations.

What the Spurs fans said

“Makes no sense, surely a Watford/Burnley etc would take him on loan? Rather he got some Prem game time.” @thfc_fenton

“Literally makes no sense, he needs to adapt to the Premier League with a loan here, not back in the league that made us buy him in the first place.” @alexdeveysmith

“I’d have preferred Gil to get a loan in England and I hope Stevie stays.” @davidnason1

“@blackpoolarab73 now Einstein couldn’t solve this now!” @cokeacola64

“I guess that’s one good way to take a year away from a young player.” @_THFCSean_

“Sooo pointless!” @thfcnxthan

It’s clear to see that the Spurs fans were annoyed at the fact he was going back to Spain, a league he knows from his time with Sevilla.

They wanted him to get game time in England to help him adjust to the physicality of the Premier League fully. It’s hard to argue with that, as surely developing his skills here would have helped him more?

Finally enjoying some movement? Seriously? We already have more dead wood than the Amazon Rain Forest, and now we’re bringing in more?
