Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to share their frustrations over the latest injury update to emerge ahead of their game at the weekend.

Antonio Conte spoke to the media on Friday afternoon ahead of this weekend’s north London derby and confirmed defender Eric Dier would not be available for the game on Sunday.

Has Dier surprised you this season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The Englishman has been missing for a number of games now due to a muscle injury, and will be reduced to watching the game from the stands as he did against Morecambe last weekend.

With just two points separating the two north London sides going into the game in N17, these fans voiced their disappointment in Conte’s injury update.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“So we lost”

“That is a massive blow. Can’t catch a break with injuries at the minute. Really tough run of games at the minute and we’ve been missing Dier, Son and Romero”
“Game over before it’s began”
“Big L”
“Postpone the game”
“Thats a huge loss”
“No Dier yeah we are finished”

Dier has seemingly found his feet in the centre-back position this season as the Lilywhites have often played as a back three – with Dier occupying the central role.

The 27-year-old has featured in all of Tottenham’s 18 Premier League games so far this campaign, and without him this weekend, it is apparent these fans are not as confident going into the game.

However, following Arsenal’s recent attempts to postpone the game, perhaps these supporters will be slightly relieved if the Premier League approves the Gunners’ request and Dier can feature in what will be a big game at a later date.

No, Dier hasn’t surprised me, he’s just the best of a poor bunch of centre backs we have. It shows how bad our squad is.
