A large number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to Twitter to share their delight at a recent claim to emerge on the financial backing expected for Antonio Conte.

According to ESPN, the Tottenham manager is expected to be given significant financial backing to overhaul the Spurs squad but the large proportion of that work will come at the end of the season.

Do you expect Levy to back Conte?

Yes

Yes

No

No

This claims just a matter of hours after Conte spoke in his latest press conference of the club’s need to invest in January with the Italian looking to improve his squad.

“For sure we need to improve the quality of the squad. I was sure after 7 days, 10 days, 2 weeks and then I make the evaluation who are the players I can count on,” said the Italian.

And after spending just over £60m in the summer, these fans shared their excitement on Twitter with some already laying down their predictions for the 2022/23 campaign.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Levy finally opening his wallet after all these years”

“I DREAMED OF DAYS LIKE THIS”
“Best be true”
“That all but confirms it, Tottenham premier league winners next season.”
“HERE WE GO”
“oh yeah, it’s all coming together”

Spurs go into the new year with five points separating them and fourth-placed Arsenal, but with two games in hand on their north London rivals.

Before Conte’s arrival, the top four seemed a long shot with a lack of consistency in their performances and results under Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, after just seven league games under the 52-year-old, Spurs have their sights set on the Champions League spots and it seems these fans are encouraged the Italian may have convinced the board to back him financially.

If cont isn’t backed he’ll be off.

We need the funds now to cement the fourth spot so we get the Champions League for next season, It’s no good finishing fifth and trying to sign players that only want Champions League. It will cost us again if we are left short in a couple of positions. We desperately need another class striker, Vlahovic should have been signed in the summer, I really believe we could have been challenging the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool if we had of done. Also a left footed centre back, a right wingback that can cross a ball and a playmaker as we’ve never really replaced Eriksen. Those four positions are a must now, not in the summer. I hope Levy has been working on getting Dele, Ndombele, Sanchez, Davies, Doherty and LoCelso out of the door to help fund such a spree.
