A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been drawn to the latest comments from Antonio Conte regarding the club’s stance on transfers this month.

There are now less than two weeks remaining of the January transfer window and the Lilywhites are yet to see any new faces come through the doors of Hotspur Way.

Are you worried Conte may walk?

Yes

Yes

No

No

And speaking ahead of their trip to Leicester City on Wednesday (as per The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare), the Italian manager provided a potentially worrying response when asked about any potential arrivals this month.

“Honestly I don’t know. Transfer window in January is very difficult, and more simple when you start the season,” said the Tottenham manager on Tuesday.

Just a matter of months ago, Conte walked away from a title-winning Inter side after a financial disagreement with their owners, and these fans shared their concerns following his latest comments.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Here we go the typical Levy fed line “January is very difficult”

“OMG he’s been brainwashed by Levy too”
“Levy has broken him”
“Pathetic club”
“This club is finished. Spurs fans have start voting with their feet”
“Aka nothing gonna happen as per usual”

Over his career as a manager, the 52-year-old has notoriously been backed financially by the respective owners of the clubs he has worked at – and has already spoken of his desire to improve the current squad at Tottenham.

Spurs did not spend excessively in the summer with a net spend of just over £30m, having spent £60m across the five additions they added to their squad (via Transfermarkt).

So with under two weeks remaining until the window shuts, we will be interested to see if Spurs can provide Conte with any further additions to bolster his squad.

As a consequence of not buying any new players, the likelihood of qualifying for CL next season is virtually nil. IF that happens? I just hope we don’t find ourselves in one of those mickey mouse competitions that happened this season! Otherwise we will be perpetuated into a never ending loop of mediocrity. (Rather like we are now)

We must bring in a couple of GOOD players)
