Dean Jones has been revealing his latest understanding of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing Adama Traore this month on Touchline Talk

Reports have suggested Antonio Conte’s side are targetting the Spanish winger having failed to secure his services over the course of the summer transfer window.

And it has been claimed the Lilywhites could even secure Traore’s services this month for a fee as little as £20m, despite Wolverhampton Wanderers’ previous high valuation of the winger.

However, speaking on Traore’s future, Jones was not so optimistic regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of the Spaniard, with the insider believing the north Londoners are not prepared to pay the reported £20m fee.

He said: “They’ve looked at Tariq Lamptey as well at Brighton, but he’s very expensive and Traore’s available, seemingly at a decent fee, even though Tottenham are currently trying to undercut them, as I understand it. They don’t really want to pay up; don’t really want to meet £20m. So I think they’re trying to get him under that. I’m not sure that will happen.”

TIF Thoughts on Traore to Spurs…

We are not fully convinced on whether Traore would be able to improve Tottenham due to the obvious deficiencies in his game which have seen him fail to convert in front of goal this season.

However, for the fans who would like to see Traore arrive this month, this will be an extremely worrying claim to listen to, with his price tag dramatically reduced from a few months ago, according to reports.

Having reportedly already reduced their asking price for their winger, we struggle to see a situation where Wolves are willing to take less than £20m for Traore, considering he has 18 months left on his current deal.
