A whole host of Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Fabrizio Romano’s latest Steven Bergwijn claim.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly open to selling Bergwijn this January transfer window, and the Dutch winger is the subject of an offer from Ajax, the club he left as a youngster back in 2011.

Has Bergwijn been a flop at Tottenham?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Dutchman was a signing under Jose Mourinho and has failed to hit the heights many may have expected from him, with just five goals in 64 league appearances, Romano has now claimed that Daniel Levy will back Antonio Conte, who wants to move the winger on, though there remains no agreement on a fee.

A lot of Spurs fans flock to Romano’s Bergwijn claim on Twitter.

What have these Tottenham fans been saying?

“Another one of Steve Hitchen’s flops. How on earth does he have a job”

@JackScarfe

“Paratici is elite with outgoings I swear we struggled so hard trying to kick out deadwood before”

@thfc_cho

“And Daniel Levy will back him.” Love the sound of that. “

@TottenhamLoyal

“We’ll probably end up agreeing something like £25m. It’s just one of those moves that’s inevitable.”

@AnthonyPaphitis

“Take the money and run Spurs!”

@superspurs34

“Both Sevilla and Ajax want him. Please let the bidding war commence”

@dele_tubbies

Bergwijn has only started one game since Conte arrived at Tottenham, so it’s clear that the manager either doesn’t rate the player or he simply doesn’t trust him, and if that’s the case, it would be wise for Spurs to let the Dutchman go.
