A whole host of Newcastle United fans on Twitter are buzzing to see their club linked with a move for Diego Carlos.

Newcastle were handed their first blow of the January transfer window when they saw a £30 million bid rejected for Sven Botman, but the new owners don’t appear to be waiting around, as The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has reported that the Magpies are looking to move for Carlos.

Who would be better for NUFC?

Carlos!

Carlos!

Botman!

Botman!

The Sevilla centre-back has been featuring regularly for the La Liga outfit over the last few years and has won the Europa League during his time with them, while they currently sit only a few points behind top spot – but he could be the man to PIF look to transform the worst defence in the Premier League.

A lot of Newcastle fans are excited on Twitter about this transfer claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Ooooo yes please”

@marlysmittas

“He’s as beast, yes.”

@SimonBe34274641

“We would be automatically safe if we signed him that’s so good he is.”

@DiscoDan18

“We are being linked with every player, their dog their cat and their nan at the moment, but in all seriousness Diego Carlos would be PERFECT. Leader, vocal, strong, mobile and reads the game well. Fantastic addition.”

@CoachMarvRake

“what a move this would be…”

@Edit_Kev

“In wonderland here nowadays, this isn’t a bad plan B is it if its true”

@roryobrienc

“A beast but right footed. Get Schlotterbeck or Botman as well then happy days “

@GhostToon76

“Alternative he’s miles clear”

@luke_curry

“I love this club”

@nufcinsightt

These Newcastle fans are clearly excited by this link and don’t see Carlos as any form of a downgrade on Botman, with both players having experience in European competitions and at the top end of their respective leagues.
