According to Hope, the Toon are hopeful the injury sustained to the 25-year-old is not as serious as first feared and that he should be able to return to the squad for their next game.

Eddie Howe’s side next take to the field in the Premier League on 8th February against Everton, and fans shared their thoughts on Twitter as Hope revealed the latest on Joelinton.

What did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“Finally, some good news on the injury front. Good to see big Joe will be available against Everton.”

“Joelinton injury not serious is the best news Ive heard in weeks”
“Great that Joelinton injury is not too severe. I’ve also heard same that NUFC are sending staff to Dubai for his potential medical, I would like to think this is correct. Have you heard anything?”

We are not surprised to see these fans delighted at the news given the impressive displays shown by their £39.6m signing this season.

Having dropped back into a midfield role under Howe, the Brazilian has impressed and has been a regular, with 20 appearances in the Premier League across the campaign so far.

With the Toon struggling at the foot of the table, Howe will feel he needs his strongest XI going into every game as they look to claw their way out of the relegation zone, so this is surely good news.
