A large number of Newcastle United fans have flooded to a recent claim on the club’s latest attempt to sign Jesse Lingard.
According to Sky Sports, the Magpies have made a fresh attempt to sign the 29-year-old midfielder, who is set to be a free agent in the summer.

The report claims the Manchester United ace would be open to a potential offer from the Tyneside club, with a permanent deal a possibility this month.

The Englishman has also been linked with a potential summer swoop from Tottenham Hotspur and, of course, West Ham United are said to be long-term admirers of their former loanee.
However, it seems these fans would love to see the Magpies jump the queue for Lingard in the summer and land him on a permanent deal to help them save their Premier League status.
Despite Lingard’s lack of game time this season, the Englishman did show last year – with frequent game time – that he could prove to be an effective addition to any side, with 14 goal involvements in 16 appearances for the Hammers.
