A whole host of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter as a fresh Sven Botman claim has surfaced.

It has been reported by several outlets that Lille’s Botman is Newcastle United’s number one centre back target this month with the defender seemingly willing to join the club and he certainly caused excitement on Tyneside a few days ago when he liked a picture on Instagram of Kieran Trippier in a Newcastle United shirt.

Will Howe keep Newcastle up?

Sky Sports have now offered a fresh claim on the Magpies’ pursuit of Botman, with them claiming a bid of £29.3 million is being considered by the Ligue 1 outfit, so the fact it is yet to be rejected could be a good sign for Newcastle.

A lot of Newcastle fans are excited on Twitter by this Botman claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Time to overspend by 5mil of asking price imo get Him and Carlos over then line and then go all out for Vlahsovic and then another LB because Ritchie was horrid today”

“The player is desperate to sign for us, very clear to see (don’t know why after todays result) but we need players of his calibre asap. It’s getting desperate, once that deal is done we need a striker. We still need another CB, CM, LB but at least one CB and CF should be priority”

“Just give them £35m and be done with it! Need him in yesterday!”

“Good news, we just need to sign another 9 players and we’re fine.”

“Just chuck as much money at Lille as possible and get him to SJP asap!”

After Saturday’s defeat to Cambridge, coupled with the fact Newcastle have conceded a league-high 42 goals so far this season, these fans’ desire to get Botman signed up as soon as possible should come as no surprise if they are to have any chance of staying in the league.
