Many Newcastle United fans have reacted with great delight after hearing Kieran Trippier will likely be the first of six new arrivals at their club this January.
Indeed, as reported by The Telegraph, the Atletico Madrid man is set to be the first signing under the new Saudi-led regime, but he may not be the last this winter.
It has been claimed that five other players will likely join after the right-back, with a left-back, two centre-backs, a central midfield player and a striker all wanted.
Should NUFC sign Mohamed Elneny?
A summary of the latest information was then posted on Twitter by NUFC360 and it seems as though many supporters simply could not believe their luck.
Here’s what these Newcastle fans had to say…
“This isn’t real life.”
Considering their current league position – the Magpies sit second-last in the Premier League, two points from safety – it’s easy to see why their new investors are keen to splash the cash as soon as possible.
The signing of Trippier certainly adds a mixture of quality and experience to the team, with the Englishman having won La Liga in Spain, but also possessing a wealth of Premier League experience after his time with Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley prior to that.
If they can add five other players to their squad, perhaps relegation can be avoided after all.
