A whole host of Newcastle United fans on Twitter were left furious after hearing the latest matchday claim to emerge.

Newcastle fans will have entered St. James’ Park on Saturday knowing that three points were absolutely crucial to their bid to remain in the Premier League come May, but they were once again leaving disappointed.

Will Newcastle sign a defender this week?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, fans will acknowledge that even if they are relegated this season, their future will look brighter under the current ownership, which was only reaffirmed as some fans found out that Mike Ashley and the previous regime had not told season ticket holders that they were entitled to 25% off food and drink on a matchday.

A lot of Newcastle fans were fuming on Twitter after finding this out.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

“Did anyone actually know this? A lad told us at HT yesterday and it was the first I’d ever heard of it”

@thejamieherd

“such an ashley thing to do this mind”

@L3w1s_Nufc

“This can’t be real, surely?!”

@Gav_Ivison

“buckled, the communication has been that bad we didn’t even know about discounted hotdogs and pies”

@jacknufc_99

Gutted at this, if true!. All the years of having a season ticket, never knew you got 25% off food and drink inside SJP just by showing it. Not one sign anywhere tells you, and none of the staff ask if you have one before charging you!”

@DanMcMahonF1

“This has to be a wind up!”

@NUFCDeenJam

As these Newcastle fans have said on Twitter, it just sums up what life was like under Mike Ashley – which is a stark contrast to the ownership of PIF, as The Athletic has reported on just how much work has gone on behind the scenes in areas such as improving the training ground facilities and speaking to staff individually.

A nice and easy one to start off with, how much is Callum Wilson worth?
