Newcastle United supporters were left far from impressed as a potential move for Dele Alli looks closer given the latest claims from the player.

Football Insider has claimed that Alli is keen on a move and has told friends he is ready to quit the London club to join former teammate Kieran Trippier on Tyneside.

Do you think Dele Alli will sign for Newcastle United?

The report claims Alli’s fondness of the switch was down to a ‘glowing’ report from Trippier, who looks to be trying to convince the Spurs man to join him.

A deal could definitely be struck, with Alli already apparently on Newcastle’s radar and Spurs’ desire to move the midfielder on.

What did the Newcastle fans have to say?

“Avoid like the plague imo. Had the chance when he left MK Dons and rejected us, highly doubt he’ll have the attitude for a relegation dogfight and probably a Championship season.” @JR_H123

“One player I’d have concerns with. Unbelievable talent but a shocking attitude. Worth the risk?” @leerobson23

“Leave him where he is.” @niallgallag

“If he shows up & does what he’s capable of, we’ll have an unbelievable player in our ranks, but he’s not shown anywhere near that over the last few years. I’m doubting he’s got the stomach for a dog fight #NUFC.” @Wig82

“Tripps, Alli and Lingard. Euro 2016 here we come.” @ayyyyyy87

It’s clear to see the Toon Army have apprehensions over a potential deal for the England international, voicing their concerns over his attitude.

Which iconic boxer is a reported Newcastle fan?

While he can add quality to the Newcastle ranks when you look at the returns he provided in his earlier days at Spurs, you can see why they’re apprehensive.

He has dropped off massively in terms of output recently. If he isn’t committed to a relegation fight, then he isn’t the signing they need. Eddie Howe needs players committed to the cause who will help drive the Magpies to safety.
