Newcastle United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding potential moves for Jesse Lingard and Diego Carlos during the January transfer window.

Newcastle are struggling when it comes to goals at both ends of the pitch so far this season. They have conceded 43 goals, which is the second-most in the Premier League, and have scored just 21 – the fourth-lowest tally in the division.

It’s therefore no surprise that they have been linked with a whole host of players in an attempt to fix those issues, with Sevilla defender Carlos and Manchester United attacking midfielder Lingard both names that have been linked with a move to St. James’ Park.

There isn’t long to go until the window closes, and according to TalkSport, Newcastle haven’t given up hope in getting those two deals over the line, claiming that “neither deal is completely dead in the water”.

Transfer reporter Alex Crook further claimed: “I never felt like this one was completely dead and I got a text message this morning saying Newcastle are back in talks with Manchester United for Jesse Lingard. Not only that – Diego Carlos might not be off the table, either.”

This report was relayed to Newcastle fans by @NUFC360 for them to react to, where it generated some interesting responses, with many excited at the prospect of both players potentially coming to the club:

“If these two come off as well as Bruno… absolutely phenomenal window”

“They did say bruno was confirmed an hour before everyone else i’m sorry, i’m getting excited.”
“Still think we will get both.”
“I can see both happening tbf”
“Us toon fans are not used to this”
“This would be epic if we got both of these still”
“Suiiiiiii”
“These would be massive.”
