A whole host of Newcastle United fans are buzzing on Twitter following Fabrizio Romano’s Jesse Lingard transfer update.

Despite a strong start to the transfer window, Newcastle have found deals a lot more difficult to broker as the days have gone by, with bids for the likes of Lingard, Duvan Zapata and Diego Carlos all being rebuffed.

Would Lingard improve Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The former is currently wasting this season way by sitting on the bench at Manchester United having not started a league game all campaign, and Romano is now claiming that the Magpies will be pushing hard to sign the midfielder.

A lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter are in love with Romano’s transfer claim.

What have these Newcastle fans been saying?

Don’t mess this up @NUFC, would be a huge signing”

@FPLAddicts_Ell

“I hope we get this deal done, what a signing it would be!”

@themaggiesnufc

“This would be massive”

@Spuggyy

“Hope we can pull this off – he’s such a game changer.”

@ConnorNUFC_

“Big statement if we can pull this off”

@NUFCItsInTheBld

“Bakker and Lingard next few days would be superb. Then the focus must be on a proven centre back, defensive midfielder and Zapata 🙂 maybe we will get Lingard & Ali just go very attacking in MF. 5 more needed for me if at all possible. Do so and we will 100% stay up”

@ToonBlackWhite

“Massive Upgrade”

@LeeCNUFC1

If Newcastle are able to pull off any kind of deal for Lingard and the midfielder produces the type of performances he was last season at West Ham United, when he netted nine goals and registered five assists, the Magpies could have a top player on their hands.
