Newcastle United fans could barely contain their excitement when they saw that they were interested in signing Wolves captain, Conor Coady.
It’s been no secret that the Magpies have been after improvements in central defence, but for one reason or another, nothing has yet materialised, and Eddie Howe is still searching for defensive reinforcements.

The Daily Star have reported that their attentions are now turning to England international Coady, with time rapidly running out to improve the backline. A deal needs to be rushed through so looking within the Premier League already will hopefully help with that.
NUFC360 on Twitter relayed the news to supporters who were delighted at the prospect of seeing Coady on Tyneside.

It’s clear to see the Toon Army would love to see Coady make the switch, but it could take a lot of money to persuade him.

He is the captain of Wolves and has built a legacy there, helping them to being contenders to qualify for Europe. To convince him to switch from all of that to a relegation battle for a club he has no allegiances with could be a huge gamble for him.
